We are a Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) school. Our staff is highly trained in the Safe and Civil Schools PBIS Model. PBIS is a multi-tiered framework to make our school a more effective place to learn. It establishes a social culture and the behavior supports needed to improve social, emotional, behavioral, and academic outcomes for all students.

Our school has two grants that provide our scholars with wonderful resources. As a Community Eligibility Provision school, all our scholars receive free breakfast and lunch without applying for this benefit. The second grant, Title 1, provides our scholars with extra human resources to provide intensive small group instruction in reading, math, and science. There is also a Community Engagement component that provides programs for parents to enjoy regular events throughout the year.

Parent involvement is critical to the success of our school so we highly encourage all parents/guardians to join our Parent Faculty Association (PFA). We have a very strong PFA that is truly dedicated to the success of all our scholars. They also take pride in showing love and care to teachers and staff throughout the year.

Dear Parents and Stakeholders,
Dear Parents and Stakeholders,
I am honored to introduce myself, Kristen Harrison, as your Assistant Principal of Montclair Elementary. I initially aspired to be a Kindergarten Teacher when I first began college but my passion changed to Health and Wellness Education. When my children attended Kindergarten, I was amazed at the awesome instruction and socialization they received that year and how it was exactly what each of them needed even while in different classes. I became an Elementary Educator the next year to impact my students while keeping a balance between my family’s schedule and my Teaching schedule. Over the eighteen years I have been an educator, I have met wonderful scholars, parents and community partners. A constant throughout my career is that it is all about the scholars and what they need, everything else is important but it begins and revolves around each scholar. I am fortunate to be at Montclair with you where we are a Family and we treat each other with Respect and Kindness, while being Responsible and Safe. I am here for your children, you, our community and our staff. Please reach out to me with any questions or for additional support. I am looking forward to an awesome year as we “Reach for the Stars”.
